Whispers of Autumn: A Tribute

Now every leaf that drifts to the ground,Whispers your name without a sound. And though you’re gone, I still believe —You linger here, among the leaves.Dew glistened on the autumn leaves,Steady and still, until a heavy breeze.A storm was coming — no one knew,The heavy dreariness about to ensue. No one saw the storm behind your smile,The way your light dimmed all the while. You were the kind who gave and gave,Until there was nothing left to save. The day you left, the world stood still. The sky turned gray against my will.Even the sun seemed to hide its face,As if it couldn’t bear this place.I still see you in October rain, In ice-cold brews and burning flame. In the fading glow of autumn’s light, Your soul still whispers, both fierce and bright. There’s anger, too, for what you faced,For how the pain erased a soul misplaced. You deserved to stay, to see what’s new, The world still turns — but missing you.
