Imagining My Ideal Cozy Rustic Home
For years, I’ve been daydreaming about what my ideal home would look like, and it always comes back to one word: coziness.
I picture a large, two-story rustic Mediterranean-style home. Something warm, earthy, and welcoming. I’ve always been drawn to that style. There’s something about it that feels so comforting to me. It’s the kind of place where you’d instantly feel at ease when you walk through the door.

At the heart of my home would be a library and writing room. I can already imagine myself curled up on a cozy couch, digging into a good book. For writing, there would be a large dark wooden desk filled with notebooks, pens, book stamps, stationary—you name it. I just want to keep it classic. Books and writing have always been my safe space, and I dream of collecting as many classics and personal favorites as I can. Filling the shelves with my own work, as well as stories that inspire me and make me feel at home.

And then there’s my kitchen, which would probably be my second favorite spot. I love to cook, so I’d want a big, open space where I could try out new recipes and invite friends or family to gather around the table. I see it as rustic but a little fancy too, complete with all the equipment I could ever need. Cooking, for me, is more than just food. It’s love, creativity, and connection. I’ve been dreaming up my kitchen for a long time now.

But my dream doesn’t just stop indoors. I’d want a beautiful outdoor space, complete with an outdoor kitchen with a lounge area strung up with twinkle lights, a little garden to nurture, and a swimming pool to dive into on hot summer days. To me, it sounds like the perfect balance of peace and joy, the kind of place where laughter echoes late into the night and life feels a little sweeter.

I know that this dream home might not be realistic for me, at least not right now. But I like holding onto it. It’s a vision of coziness, comfort, and the feeling of home—all of the things that make me feel most like myself. Maybe one day I’ll get there, but until then, it’s a dream I carry with me.
“A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams.”
