Discover the Magic of Terra: My Favorite Restaurant

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite restaurant?

It’s a simple question, but one that always lights me up. For me, without hesitation, the answer is Terra—a rooftop oasis nestled inside my little heaven on earth: Eataly.

Eataly is so much more than a store.  It’s a huge Italian marketplace overflowing with fresh ingredients, vibrant food counters, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve been transported to the charming cobblestone streets of Rome.

There are food departments for literally anything you’d desire: Frutti Di Mare (seafood), Carne (meats), fromage (cheese), pane (bread), and delectable Dolce (dessert).  There is also a pizzeria that smells and tastes like heaven.

For me, the desserts are where it’s at.  There are so many options to choose from, but my personal favorites are their cannoli’s and tiramisu.  It practically tastes like you were personally blessed by nonna (grandma) herself.

But the true jewel of Eataly is their rooftop restaurant.  Terra is a wood-burning Italian grill.  Their steak is so tender and juicy, probably the best I’ve ever had.  Their pasta dishes are rich and layered with immense flavor.  Each bite is pure euphoria. It feels like you’re writing a love letter to Italian cooking.

The ambiance is magical.  Outdoor fire pits, twinkle lights that sparkle underneath the stars, and a gorgeous open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work.  It’s romantic, relaxing, and just the right amount of rustic charm.

Italy has always held a special place in my heart.  It’s my favorite place in the world.  So if I can capture even the slightest bit of magic right here in Los Angeles, you can bet I’ll be there with a fork in hand and full heart.

Eataly has many locations, but If you ever find yourself in Los Angeles, do yourself a favor and visit Terra. Come hungry, stay for the vibes, and let the food transport you back to the beauty that is Italy.

“In every bite, a memory. In every flavor, a story. Italy is never too far when the food feels like home.”
