BBQ Chicken

Smoky, sticky, and perfectly charred at the edges, this BBQ chicken is a simple summer classic made for backyard gatherings. Juicy chicken is seasoned and grilled (or baked) until tender, then brushed with a rich barbecue sauce that caramelizes into a slightly sweet, tangy glaze.

Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 2-3 lbs bs chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp hot sauce optional

Method
 

Grill Method
  1. Preheat grill to medium heat.
  2. Pat chicken dry and coat with olive oil and seasonings.
  3. Grill chicken about 25–30 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. During the last 10 minutes, brush generously with BBQ sauce.
  5. Continue grilling until slightly charred and cooked through.
Oven Method
  1. Bake at 425°F for 35–40 minutes.
  2. Brush with sauce during the last 10–15 minutes.
  3. Broil briefly for caramelized edges.

Notes

Serve with extra sauce and lots of napkins.
