Embracing the Comfort of Cold Weather
During the colder weather, I thrive. There is nothing better than curling up in a blanket, enjoying a nice warm cup of tea or coffee, reading a book, or watching a movie. It’s the coziest time.
I live in Southern California, so colder days are pretty rare—but when they come around, I take full advantage. I’m encouraged to get outside more, perhaps go for a long walk. The cold brings me back to life. It makes me feel alert and just genuinely puts me in a better mood.
The crisp air brings a sense of clarity. My thoughts feel less foggy; my nervous system settles. The slower pace of the season gives me permission to rest, reflect, and reconnect. I love to light candles, put on some warm fuzzy socks, and let myself breathe deeper.
Colder weather just makes me feel alive. It brings forth happy memories of playing outside, sitting around a fire pit with friends, and making some classic comfort foods.
There’s a type of stillness around as well. I find more peace during fall and winter than the other seasons. So, when the temperature drops, even just slightly, I gladly welcome it with open arms. I lean into the warm within, and I savor every cozy moment.
“The cold never bothered me anyway.”
