Embracing Chaos: A Journey to Inner Strength

illustration of a head and butterflies around the scalp and inside the brain
A restless mind that never sleeps,
A stream of thoughts, a current so deep.
Racing thoughts, a whirlwind thrill,
A mind that hums, yet never still.

The wires twist inside my head,
A constant roar, a tangled thread.
A labyrinth of endless reflections,
They twist and pull in wild directions.

Each idea frays, each path gets lost,
As the noise builds up, I pay the cost.
Overwhelm and anxiety grip and hold,
Forgetting myself somewhere in the fold.

Emotions unravel, an unyielding tide,
A tidal wave I can’t escape or hide.
Washed ashore to a place unknown,
Wandering the sands, utterly alone.

Every moment weighed with doubt and strain,
Fighting that shadow, aching in vain.
My body shudders, a tremor, a chill,
Hoping for release from the silent kill.

I reach for breath but can’t grasp the air,
A chest so tight, a heaviness to bear.
The noise is ceaseless, a screaming plea,
A storm that only I can see.

My mind is a canvas marked by hues,
Shifting colors, none of which I choose.
Gravity pulls with tempered grace,
A battle fought within this quiet space.

A paradox blooms where silence speaks,
Whispering truths the mind seeks.
In fragments, half-formed and strange,
A puzzle piece that won’t quite arrange.

Through intervals of pain and sadness,
Thriving in the chaos, and madness.
In yet I wear my heart on my sleeve,
A testament to what I believe.

Compassion and empathy, traits I cherish,
Feelings of hope that shall never perish.
Quirky and awkward right from the start,
Taking pride in my kind heart.

Through the frenzy, I find my way,
Igniting passion to seize the day.
Though my mind spirals, wild and loud,
I rise, no longer hiding behind the crowd.

I have a voice, soft and low,
Growing deeper with each blow.
I embrace my differences, none to repair,
For I know the world will always compare.

Self-connection fuels every desire,
A freedom that lifts me higher and higher.
I’m riding this newfound way of life,
Through every crutch and every strife.

I’m on the right path, and now I see clear,
A cluttered mind, but no room for fear.
For I am strong, and I will persist,
Through it all, I will rise. I can’t resist.

“It is better to have your head in the clouds, and know where you are… than to breathe the clearer atmosphere below them, and think that you are in paradise.”
