Celebrate Confidence: The Power of Inspiring Friends

Daily writing prompt
Who is the most confident person you know?

There are a few friends with confidence that amaze me. My lifelong friend Beatrice is, in my opinion, the definition of someone who is confident. She radiates an aura that is both exhilarating and calming. We’ve known each other since middle school. She was and still is so intelligent, quick-witted, and eloquent with her words. Beatrice is the extrovert that adopted introverted me, and we’ve been best friends ever since. I honestly don’t know what I’d do, or where I’d be without her guidance and support.

We always have the best times together, and share so many interests. Her independence inspires me to be that way too. Right now, I’m not as independent as I’d like to be, but her tenacity enthralls me. and She owns her home. She thrives in her career as one of the best communicators I know.

Beatrice has taught me many valuable lessons on life. She is my confidant, my go-to person for advice and my protector. Her humor and her knowledge are unmatched, and we can talk about anything. She is the person who makes me want to be the best version of myself. We have been through so much together. I forever cherish her for making me feel seen, heard, and never judged.

Then there is another best friend of mine, Zoe. She has helped me during my most vulnerable and toughest moments. She is my rock, the one I lean on when life feels overwhelming. We get each other on a whole other level. We laugh together, cry together, and have the very best times. Some of my best memories are with her. She inspired me to travel independently. She gave me hope, when I couldn’t see any. Most importantly, she listens. She always comforts me with seriousness, but also jokes. Honestly the funniest person I know.

She is cheerful, generous, funny and wholeheartedly invested in her friendships. When she loves, she loves hard. I’ve always admired her for being so confident. She does everything with such natural ease. She can talk to anyone, make friends easily, and do things independently. She spent the majority of her twenties traveling the world, and making lifelong connections with people. Then she settled in a new state, got her bachelors degree, and found a career she absolutely thrives in.

Zoe has given me a new outlook on life. She’s been through a lot lately, and her selflessness has inspired me to be like that. There are times when I can be selfish and unintentionally neglect the people I love. But Zoe has taught me that even through the hardest times, there is still positivity and light in the world.

These two people have saved me in ways that they will never fully know. They are strong, resilient, and exuberantly confident. They are my inspirations, my heroes. Their unwavering confidence has given me strength. Because of them, I am learning to step into my own power. I hope everyone is lucky enough to find friends like Beatrice and Zoe. They are the kind of friends who lift you up. They see you fully. They remind you that you are never alone.

Thank you, Beatrice and Zoe, for making my life richer and more meaningful.
