The Cult of Personality: Trump and the Erosion of Ethics
In my view, the answer is clear โ and I know Iโm not alone in this. Donald Trump and his enablers represent a direct threat to the core principles of democracy, justice, and human decency. Under his leadership, America hasnโt just faltered โ itโs fractured. At the center of this chaos is a man who has repeatedly shown that power, not service, is his ultimate goal.
Letโs be honest, Trumpโs legacy is marked by cruelty, corruption, and division. His administration separated families at the border, rolled back civil rights protections, emboldened white supremacists, and mocked the disabled and marginalized. He fueled the January 6th attack on the capitol. Then he downplayed it, celebrated it, and continues to spread the very lies that incited it.
He mocked the disabled, belittled women, and vilified the press.ย ย He did this all while weaponizing patriotism to silent rebellion. And donโt even get me started on the people heโs aligned himself with. Figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has spread dangerous misinformation about autism and mental health, undermining years of advocacy and scientific progress.ย Or Elon Musk, who uses his platform to elevate hate speech and amplify white nationalist rhetoric.ย ย Even going so far as to mimic a Nazi salute.ย ย These arenโt fringe moments; theyโre reflections of a movement that is rotting from the top down.ย
Every single day, it feels like something new comes to light. Another statement, another headline, another act of cruelty that makes me want to scream or punch a wall. Itโs exhausting, infuriating, and above all this isnโt normal.
He is now a convicted felon, yet millions still support him, not because of his competence, but because he has become a symbol of resentment and radical ideology. That alone should alarm anyone who values the rule of law.
Whatโs more disturbing is the way Trump weaponizes religion. He doesnโt use it as a tool of compassion, instead he uses it as a shield for cruelty. Many of his supporters hide behind their faith to justify his bigotry, misogyny, and hate. They ignore the core teachings of empathy and justice. Their loyalty is not to moral principle, itโs to a political idol. Itโs cult-like, and quite frankly, dangerous.
This man has made it clear โ through his words and actions โ that he has no interest in protecting democracy. He openly admires dictators, threatens journalists, and promises revenge against political opponents. He doesnโt want to lead a country. He wants to rule it.
I used to believe that common sense and compassion would prevail. That deep down, most people wanted whatโs best for one another. But Iโve come to see just how much fear, misinformation, and blind allegiance have poisoned our national dialogue. I donโt hate the people whoโve been misled โ I pity them. Theyโve been fed lies and sold a fantasy. But itโs one that endangers the rest of us.
Trump is not just a political figure. Heโs a symptom of a deeper rot in our culture โ one that values power over truth, dominance over empathy. And I will never be ashamed to say it: he is the worst thing thatโs happened to this country in my lifetime.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you wrote even though I’m not an American or live in America…
One wonders whether the voting system is flawed when a person manifested with so many evil and irregular thoughts is allowed to hold a position of power that not only affects America and its’ people but people from any country in the world!
