Everyday Annoyances: My Most Frustrating Pet Peeves
Honestly there are a lot of things that push my buttons. You know, those daily annoyances that you just can’t seem to ignore. For me, three things consistently remain at the top of the list.
Being Interrupted
For me, there’s nothing more frustrating than trying to share a thought, only to be cut off mid-sentence. It’s incredibly disrespectful and makes me feel like I’m just an afterthought. Sadly, this happens to me quite often.
There are some people I know who just love talking about themselves. Whenever I try to speak or spark a new idea for conversation, I’m practically ignored. So, I’ve learned to just stay quiet around those people, listen, and nod every once in a while.
I can genuinely tell when people don’t care about what I have to say. I’ve learned over time that you can’t expect people to reciprocate. For a long time, I always expected others to act accordingly. You know, treat others how you’d like to be treated. But not everyone lives by that, and it’s okay. I’m just glad that it no longer affects me the way that it used to.
But please, don’t interrupt me when I’m speaking. It’s rare that I do to begin with, so it’d be great if someone actually listened.

Drivers Who Don’t Use Turn Signals
A turn signal is the simplest thing you can do. I don’t for the life of me understand why people don’t do it. It takes literally a second to do, and it should be natural instinct. For all those who don’t signal while driving…congratulations on being the most important person in the world. I had no Idea you were VIP. (sorry, not sorry for being sarcastic there).
It just boggles my mind why people can’t do such a simple thing. It’s important to let other drivers know which way you’re turning, or if you’re turning at all. It’s a common courtesy, and it’s incredibly disrespectful to other drivers. Please use your signal!

3. People Who Don’t Cover Their Mouths When They Cough
Another thing that is common sense. I can’t fathom why someone wouldn’t cover their mouth when coughing. It drives me up a wall. I’m a little bit of a germaphobe, so I don’t enjoy other people’s germs invading my space.
A sudden cough or sneeze without any attempt to cover it up, is the most disrespectful thing you can do. It feels like a lack of consideration for those around you, and this particular behavior is hard to ignore. It’s a non-negotiable to me. If I see you doing that, I will in fact confront you about it.
Traveling? Please cover your nose and mouth when exposing germs. Planes are a very confined space, and you risk getting other sick. Like I said before, common sense.

These pet peeves affect me in more ways than they should. But you know what? These things add up, and I’ve realized that it’s okay to acknowledge the annoyances that matter to me. I’m rather sarcastic by nature, and when it comes to these three things, I can’t help but laugh, and yell a little.
“Some annoyances are small, but when they hit repeatedly, they test your patience—and maybe even your sanity.”
