The Inferno of Los Angeles

Cloaked in smoke, it breathes and sways,
A maze lost in its smoky haze.
Flames leap high in a cruel embrace,
A kingdom of ash we now must face.
The hills ablaze in an orange glow,
A gust of fire devours the night’s flow.
The city trembles, torn in two,
Beneath the sun's vengeful hue.
The skyline dims, a shadowed trace,
The air, a burden we must brace.
The stars vanish, the moon turns red,
A vision of what lies ahead.
Families flee with tear-streaked eyes,
Clutching hope beneath blackened skies.
Memories lost to the ember's kiss,
Dissolving in the dreary abyss.
Through a different lens, I gaze and see
The magic that once was, now history.
The tides have shifted, the future unclear,
Like a Hollywood drama, the curtain draws near.
Though the flames may rage and roar,
We will flourish like never before.
For even in lands scorched and torn,
The seeds of tomorrow are reborn.
From this scorched and shattered ground,
A new horizon will soon be found.
With patience, we'll rise and then,
Los Angeles, the city of angels, will rise again!
“We Can’t control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to it.”

Great, helpful information you have assembled, Nicole. Thank you. Inspiring reflections too, at this truly scary time.

Thank you for sharing. Have distant relatives near LA and friends in the area. It pains me to view what is happening on the news. My heart goes out the all those who live the area. You’re in my prayers.
