My Ideal Day: A Perfect Day at the Beach
If I could create my perfect day from beginning to end, it would unquestionably be spent at the beach. Preferably on the Amalfi coast in Italy. I’ve never been there before, but it looks stunning and a great spot for therapeutic experiences.
There’s something about being near the ocean that brings me an overwhelming sense of peace and serenity. The pulsing sound of the waves is captivating. The salty breeze in the air is refreshing. The warmth of the sun on my skin creates an atmosphere unlike any other. It’s a place where time slows down, and everything feels just right.
I was once asked, “What’s your holy place?” I’m not religious, but I don’t believe holiness has to be tied to religion. To me, it’s a place where you find solitude and inner peace. It is a space that allows you to reconnect with yourself. The beach has always been that place for me.
There’s a special kind of magic in starting the day with my toes in the sand. I always take a deep breath. I inhale the fresh ocean air. I let the sound of the waves wash away any lingering worries. Perhaps I’d take a long walk along the shoreline. I might collect seashells or let my thoughts drift like the seagulls overhead.
As the sun rises higher in the sky, I’d settle down with a good book. I’d be completely immersed in another world. The waves provide the perfect background music. I’d most likely bring a fantasy novel for more escapism, a steady way to ease the chaos in my mind.
At some point, I’d take a dip in the water, feeling weightless as the ocean embraces me. There’s something deeply grounding about floating in the sea. It lets you drift for a moment before guiding you back to shore.
Lunchtime would mean a beachside picnic. It would be filled with fresh fruit. Imagine having a pina colada or aperol spritz in hand. There would also be a tuna salad sandwich. It might sound boring and simple, but I like that. Also nothing brings me more joy than a charcuterie board, so that is a must. Especially while in Italy. I’d spend the afternoon basking in the sun. I might journal or just watch the world go by. I would feel entirely at ease with the present moment. I enjoy watching others having as much fun as I do.
As the day winds down, I’d stay to watch the sunset. The sky is painted in brilliant colors of pink and orange. That’s always been my favorite part. The quiet transition from day to night, when everything feels a little softer, and a little more complete.
A perfect day at the beach isn’t just about the location. It’s about the feeling it brings. It’s a place where I find clarity, where I feel most like myself. And if I could choose to spend my day anywhere, it would always be there.
