Top 5 Fruits That Bring Joy and Memories
Sweet Simplicity: My Favorite Fruits and the Joy They Bring
Fruits have a unique ability to evoke comfort through their taste and the memories they unlock. Although I appreciate a variety of fruits, there are certain ones that I desire consistently. Each one these fruits carries a story and hold value.
Strawberries: My Forever Favorite
Strawberries are more than just a favorite fruit. Nostalgia is heavily tied to them. Their vibrant red color, soft and juicy texture, and the sweet yet tart flavor brings me back to childhood summers.ย ย
I remember my grandmaโs vanilla and strawberry cake topped with whipped cream. She’d make it every year to celebrate my birthday, and it was so special to me. Growing up my favorite baseball player was Daryl Strawberryโpurely because of his last name.
Strawberries just feel like pure joy to me.ย ย Every bite brings back a fond memory. ย ย ย
Watermelon: A Taste of Summer
Thereโs nothing like biting into a juicy slice of watermelon on a hot summer day.ย ย Itโs the ultimate refreshment.ย ย I remember always packing some up on my trips to the beach, or picnics in the park.ย ย
It reminds me of social gatherings such as a backyard BBQ. Swimming in the pool and having a slice. The pure joy of a blissful summer. The cool, crisp and hydrating texture is fulfilling in the best way.
Apples and Peanut Butter: The Perfect Pair
Crisp, juicy apples are my essentially my everyday dessert.ย I pair it with peanut butter and call it a day.ย ย Itโs such a satisfying snack. It’s a better choice than my usual indulgence of ice cream or cookies.
I love all types of apples, but my favorite would have to be Honeycrisp.ย ย Theyโre a beautiful reddish gold delight. As a kid, I recall mostly eating Granny Smith’s, the perfect apple used for pie. I’d have it as a snack everyday after school.
Bananas: Energy on the Go
Bananas are my energy booster. I remember a time when I was severely dehydrated. I suffered from horrible leg cramps, dizziness, and just overall depletion of energy.
A friend of mine handed me a banana, and I honestly felt so replenished afterward.ย ย It helped me tremendously. I almost instantly felt better. The cramping seized, and my energy came back. So now, whenever Iโm feeling a little low on energy I grab a banana.
Blueberries: Small but Mighty
Blueberries are my small, sweet and tart delicious treats. I could practically eat one of those smaller packages in one sitting. I love tossing them into everythingโparfaits, pancakes, muffins, jam, the list goes on. I love their versatility and how they bring that burst of freshness.
I remember eating them during soccer practice and at games. The mom’s who brought the snacks, would put them in the freezer, and it was the best treat during breaks.
Why it Matters
These arenโt just food to me, theyโre a small source of comfort, and care. Fruits make you feel good.ย ย They remind me of simpler days. And in my opinion, they are indeed nature’s candy.
